Tree Planting at Abeysekaramaya Temple

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of a tree planting program at the serene and historic Abeysekaramaya Temple, a cherished spiritual landmark that now carries an even stronger commitment to environmental stewardship.

This initiative was undertaken as part of our mission to create greener, healthier communities while preserving cultural and spiritual heritage. With the participation of temple monks, devotees, local residents, and our dedicated volunteers, a variety of native and fruit-bearing trees were planted within the temple premises. These trees will not only beautify the temple grounds but also provide shade, improve air quality, and offer fruits to the community for many years to come.

The tranquil setting of Abeysekaramaya Temple made this planting even more meaningful, as it reflects the harmony between spiritual practice and the natural world. Temple visitors and devotees will now be able to enjoy a cooler, greener environment while reflecting and meditating under the shade of these growing trees.

The event also served as an opportunity to educate participants about the importance of tree planting in mitigating climate change, supporting biodiversity, and enhancing community well-being. The monks and temple management expressed their gratitude and pledged to nurture the saplings until they flourish into strong, life-giving trees.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and energy to make this project a success. Together, we are planting not only trees but also hope for a sustainable future.
