At Youth Hub, we strive to inspire positive change by empowering young people to take meaningful action for the environment and their communities. One of our recent green initiatives was the tree planting project at මංකඩ ශ්‍රී පුරාණ විහාරය, a historic temple that holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for the local community.

This project brought together our passionate Youth Hub volunteers, temple devotees, villagers, and local leaders, all united by one vision — to protect and restore our natural surroundings for future generations. Together, we planted a variety of native trees carefully chosen to thrive in the temple’s environment, providing shade, beauty, and biodiversity for years to come.

We believe that planting trees is not just about adding greenery — it is about creating living legacies. Each sapling planted at මංකඩ ශ්‍රී පුරාණ විහාරය symbolizes our commitment to sustainability, clean air, and climate action. It also offers our youth a chance to learn the true value of conservation, teamwork, and community service.

This project is one small step in our bigger mission to green Sri Lanka, one tree at a time. Youth Hub continues to organize tree planting drives across temples, schools, public spaces, and other community areas, connecting people to nature while preserving cultural landmarks.
